The 184 km Kasomeno-Mwenda Toll Road and Border Post Project
was conceptualised with the following objectives:
To create a viable and world-class alternative transport route and border crossing between DRC and Zambia, thereby alleviating the existing congestion at the Kasumbalesa border post.
To improve connectivity between the Haut-Katanga and neighbouring DRC provinces with the port of Dar es Salaam through a faster and shorter route.
To create a new road capable of meeting the increasing regional trade and economic activity between the Haut-Katanga Province in the DRC and the Luapula Province in Zambia.
Provide technical advisory services to the lender in regards to pavement and materials review for the project.
Conduct technical and traffic due diligence work to ensure the project reaches Financial Close (FC) and provide ongoing project monitoring services to ensure the project achieves Commercial Operation Date (COD).
